The 3-Stage Journey Flow
Stage 1: The Estate Ascent & Forest Entrance
Your day begins with an early morning pickup from Kandy, driving up into the mist-laden hills to reach the remote village of Thangappuwa. The trek kicks off with a steady walk through vibrant green tea gardens and quiet countryside. As the crisp morning air settles in, you will quickly cross into the UNESCO World Heritage Conservation Forest, leaving civilization behind.
Stage 2: Deep into the Waterfall Kingdom
Navigating rugged, unmarked paths known only to our mountain experts, you will venture into misty cloud forests following the sound of rushing water. The trail brings you directly to the spectacular Kotaganga Waterfall Chain, where you will explore seven distinct cascades surrounded by lush canopy, mossy rocks, and clear mountain streams.
Stage 3: The Ridge Lookout, Lunch & Descent
After exploring the hidden cascades, the trail climbs toward an open mountain viewpoint offering uninterrupted views of the towering Knuckles peaks and valleys below. Here, we pause to enjoy an authentic packed adventure lunch surrounded by nature. Refreshed by the mountain air, we descend back along the same wilderness path to our vehicle for a comfortable drive back to Kandy by late afternoon.
